Kits and Fabrics

I am so pleased to offer 3 different kits using the gorgeous September Light fabrics from Lida Enche and In The Beginning Fabrics.Making Waves tablerunner and placemats

My new pattern, Making Waves placemats and tablerunner, is available in two colorways: the teal/green versions shown here and also a red/orangy yellow set- I’ll have those pictured soon.  The kits include fabric for the fronts, backs and binding, as well as the pattern.  (Batting is not included.)  Each kit makes 4 placemats (14 1/2″ x 17″) and a tablerunner (16 1/2″ x 40″).  Price for the kit is $59.95 plus shipping.  Please note that I made one fabric substitution: the binding fabric is the teal ombre stripe instead of the print shown in the sample.September Tango

I also have a fun and vibrant version of my Mango Tango pattern using this wonderful fabric line, available in 3 different sizes.

The kit includes fabric for the front and binding, and the pattern.  Crib size (45 1/2″ x 55 1/2″) is $75.95 plus shipping.  Lap size (55 1/2″ x 65 1/2″) is $96.95 plus shipping.  Double/Queen size (85 1/2″ x 95 1/2″) is $194.95 plus shipping.

To order any of these kits, please send me an email at laurieshifrin@aol.com.  I have limited quantities, so this is done on a first come-first served basis.

Laurie, I love the new Mango Tango. The brights just look so cheerful. Cindy

    • They are as cheerful as they seem! I’m really thrilled with how the quilt turned out, and my machine quilter did a great job too. This quilt will be showing at In The Beginning’s booth at Quilt Market in Houston along with the new Making Waves placemats and tablerunner. Pretty exciting!

Just finished Crosswalk placemats. I was working on them at a retreat and everyone loved them.

    • Linda, I’d love to see a photo of your set. Did you use a pre-packaged set of strips? Did you try one of my suggested variations or are you saving that for next time. I’m happy that your retreat friends liked them – it’s really a fun pattern!

Good Saturday Morning!! I wanted to know if you sell a kit for the pattern Natures Jewels Block of the Month. I’m a dedicated quilter and am totally inspired by your designs. I’m hoping you sell this Block of the Month so I can just sit and sew. If this doesn’t get to you, I’ll try again
    Thanks, Jan Rodgers, Indianapolis

    • Hello Jan. I don’t have any kits for Nature’s Jewels, but I think a shop in Walla Walla is going to be doing a class soon, so they may have kits. They probably had to make fabric substitutions as many of the batiks I used are no longer available. So try contacting Walla Walla Sew and Vac and Spa (yes they sell hot tubs!) Good Luck!

Hello Laurie, I made the Ripples & Reflections quilt back in 2012 & have Nature’s Jewels kit in my UFO group. Your directions were so well written, as I was not able to join the block of the month group in 2012 as they were 5 months into the project. Anyway, when I took it to the longarm quilter she couldn’t believe I made it without guidance from a group. Oh yes, Ripples & Reflections was my first large project. I took my first quilting class in 2011.

    • Muriel – that is an amazing accomplishment! Thanks for the kind word about my instructions. If you want to try another one, Nature’s Jewels is a little less challenging – not so many small triangles. Anyway, congratulations on getting that one done!
